Community Corps volunteers — Donating time, talent and energy to help make a difference

Our Community Corps volunteers have been busy! Maybe you’ve seen them – or the Community Corps symbol, a distinctive red triangle with a heart inside – at an activity or event near you.

Community Corps volunteers aren’t just any volunteers — they are our employees, families and friends, neighbors and customers, doing what they can to help build stronger communities for us all.

Many of our employees recently joined volunteers from other local businesses to take part in a Day of Caring to support the United Way organizations in Calvert, Charles, St. Mary’s and King George counties. They spent the day helping non-profit organizations with a variety of tasks.

Our Community Corps volunteers also attended several charity walks over the past month. We were pleased to support the Alzheimer’s Association at the Annual Walk to Fight Alzheimer’s, and also the Calvert Memorial Hospital 5K Breast Cancer Run/Walk.

Additionally, our volunteers helped with admission sales for the WineFest at Historic Sotterley Plantation.

And, last but not least, we are currently running a promotion in our branches to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Donors to the fight against Cystic Fibrosis are invited to sign their name to a paper pumpkin, which we will proudly display in the branch.
