CBTC Behind the Scenes: Updating Our Name

What’s in a name? It’s a question we’ve found ourselves pondering quite a bit lately at Community Bank!

As you may have heard, we recently announced an exciting update that will take effect in October, when Community Bank of Tri-County becomes Community Bank of the Chesapeake. The decision came after much consideration about how we’ve grown and changed over the years.

Having recently expanded into Virginia, first with the opening of our King George branch and now with a new lending office in Fredericksburg, it became clear that we were beginning to outgrow the “Tri-County” part of our brand. Our new name gives us a broader geographical scope, enabling us to encompass all the people that we serve.

So what does our name change mean for you?

It is often said that there’s comfort in the known, and if there’s one thing we’ve always known, it’s that we pride ourselves on being your Community Bank. Rest assured: we’re still us. We still believe in exceeding the expectations of the communities we serve, today and tomorrow. We still seek to provide our customers and shareholders with innovative resources and solutions to meet their financial goals. And we remain committed to the communities where we live and work.

Over the next few months, we’ll be rolling out a brand new logo, replacing signage in the branches and updating some other items to reflect our new name. Items like checks, Checkcards and ATM cards will be updated during the normal course of business, as your checks need to be re-ordered or your cards are due for re-issue. Additionally, we’ll continue to be available online at www.cbtc.com.

Looking forward, our name may be changing, but our priorities remain the same. We see this evolution as a natural part of our growing process, and it’s a step that we’re very excited to take. We hope you will join us in celebrating this milestone!
